Who we are
This internship is based at ING’s Head Office in Amsterdam, within the Global COO and CTO organization. You will join a team of seven experienced finance professionals who provide financial and business advice to senior COO and CTO domains across the bank. The team operates at the center of decision-making, supporting global budgeting, forecasting, and performance discussions.

As an intern, you will gain hands-on exposure to how finance supports strategy: how budgeting and forecasting processes are run, how financial data is translated into actionable insights, and how business partnering works in a complex, international organization.

What you’ll do

  • Support day-to-day operational activities related to financial forecasting, business partnering, and cost modeling

  • Assist in preparing analyses, presentations, and stakeholder inputs

  • Support coordination and execution of process improvements, automation initiatives, and efficiency enhancements

  • Collaborate closely with the team and interact with internal stakeholders across domains

How to succeed

We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious. Keep learning. Take on responsibility. In return, we’ll back you to develop into an even more awesome version of yourself.

We are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s student in Finance, Business Administration, Business Control, Economics, or a related field

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with different stakeholders

  • Analytical, hands-on, and eager to learn

  • Good knowledge of English

  • Solid Excel skills; Power BI, a plus for knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodology

  • Prior banking experience is not required

Rewards and benefits

This is a great opportunity to train with highly skilled people who are experts in their field. You’ll do a lot and learn a lot – not only about your specialist area and the bank, but also about yourself and whether this type of environment is right for you.

You’ll also benefit from:

  • Internship allowance of 700 EUR based on a 36 hours work week

  • Your own work laptop

  • Hybrid working to blend home working for focus and office working for collaboration and co-creation

  • Personal growth and challenging work with endless possibilities

  • An informal working environment with innovative colleagues

During the duration of your internship at ING, it is mandatory to be enrolled at a Dutch university (or EU-university for EU passport holders).
