Over Maël

I’m a hardware and embedded systems engineer specialized in taking electronic products from concept to production. I work across system architecture, schematic design, PCB layout, embedded firmware, power electronics, RF, batteries, mechanical integration and manufacturing. I have designed 100+ PCBs ranging from simple prototypes to multilayer mixed-signal, high-speed and RF boards, and thousands of boards I designed are currently in use across Europe. I also co-founded and engineered a commercial battery-powered Bluetooth speaker from the ground up, owning the electronics, firmware, acoustics, mechanical design, sourcing and manufacturing. More than 600 units have been produced and sold. My typical projects involve connected products, IoT devices, audio electronics, power electronics and embedded systems. I particularly enjoy projects where I can take ownership of the complete hardware architecture, solve difficult integration problems, prototype quickly and turn an early concept into a reliable manufacturable product. Technologies include KiCad, STM32, ESP32, Nordic nRF, C/C++, FreeRTOS, Linux SoMs, USB, Ethernet, I2S/TDM, RF, lithium batteries, BMS, switch-mode power supplies and high-speed/controlled-impedance PCB design.
