Welke routes werken voor AD-cloud synchronisatie

Microsoft Entra Connect (voorheen Azure AD Connect). Standaard voor M365-georienteerde organisaties. Brede functionaliteit voor hybrid identity.

Entra Cloud Sync. Lichtere variant van Entra Connect, geschikt voor specifieke scenarios met minder complexiteit.

Okta AD Agent. Voor organisaties met Okta als IdP en behoud van on-prem AD voor specifieke apps.

Google Cloud Directory Sync (GCDS). Voor Google Workspace-shops.

Password hash sync vs pass-through vs federation

Password hash sync (PHS) is de eenvoudigste route: AD-hashes worden naar Entra gesynchroniseerd. Pass-through authentication (PTA) authenticeert direct tegen AD. Federation (ADFS of derde partij) levert SAML-flow naar AD. PHS is de standaard-aanbeveling voor de meeste organisaties.

Hybrid identity en de cloud-only migratie

Veel organisaties bewegen richting cloud-only IdP (decommission van on-prem AD). Voor legacy-apps blijft hybrid soms nodig. De migratie-strategie raakt de hele identiteit-architectuur.

Group writeback en de bidirectional-flow

Voor specifieke scenarios is bidirectional sync nodig: groep-aanmaak in Entra rolt terug naar AD. Entra Connect ondersteunt dit met group writeback.
