AWS heeft zijn eigen migration framework (AWS Well-Architected, AWS Migration Hub). Voor de meeste NL-organisaties werkbaar, met een paar lokale aanpassingen.
Phase 1: assess
AWS Migration Evaluator (gratis) inventariseert workloads en geeft TCO-vergelijking. AWS Application Discovery Service voor diepere afhankelijkheids-analyse. Per workload: rehost, replatform, refactor, retain, retire of relocate.
Phase 2: mobilize
Landing zone (AWS Control Tower of zelf-build), networking architectuur (VPCs, Transit Gateway), identity (IAM Identity Center, eventueel Entra ID-federation), security baseline (Security Hub, GuardDuty, Config). Skill-bouw bij operations-team.
Phase 3: migrate en validate
Per workload: AWS MGN (Application Migration Service) voor lift-and-shift, AWS DMS voor databases, AWS Snowball voor offline data-transfer bij grote volumes. Per golf: pre-migrate, migrate, validate, cutover, post-migrate-monitor.
NL-specifieke aandachtspunten
EU regions (eu-central-1 Frankfurt, eu-west-1 Ierland) voor data-residency. AWS Outposts voor workloads die echt NL-on-prem moeten blijven. PrivateLink voor verkeer dat niet over public internet mag. Voor regulated NL-organisaties standaard onderdeel van architectuur.
